I love this picture! It’s my critique group and we’re at a Christmas party. The one I’m about to crush (I’m wearing the blue non-Christmas jacket) is Linda Trout. She wrote Shattered Promises, which was just released a few days ago.

This group of writers are very good friends. Linda is a hard worker with a big heart, proven by the fact that she didn’t smack me when this picture was taken.

And SHATTERED is a great story! (I know, because we went through the birthing process with Linda.)

I have to tell you, writing a great story isn’t easy. Maybe it looks like it is, because after all, we’re just sitting around making up stuff, but no. It’s not. Even if you have fantastic critique partners. (Pardon me while I pat myself, Linda, Marilyn, and Jackie on the back.)

And it’s killer to find a publisher instead of self-pubbing your story.

Don’t get me wrong. Some self-published books are really good, but it’s just a little harder to find someone anxious to take on your work, pay an editor, an artist,  a printer, and someone to digitize and put it online. Linda’s publisher is Wild Rose Press, the publisher of my first three books.

You can check out Linda’s book here–Shattered Promises (Rock Ledge): Trout, Linda: 9781509244102: Amazon.com: Books

I tried to copy the cover, which is gorgeous, but I bombed  🙁

Check out Shattered Promises, then come back here and thank me. You’ll be glad you did. 🙂

  1. Susan, you are SO sweet!! Thanks a ton for pimping my book! I know it’s my story, I’m the one who came up with the idea, wrote it, etc., but no writer truly does this alone and I am extremely grateful to have such fabulous critique partners. Y’all keep me going, sometimes shoving me in the right direction on a story. Of course, it’s all done with love, and that’s the most important part/aspect of this process.

Thank you for always being there and having my back! Love ya’!
